HealthInsite's Audience

HealthInsite provides consumers and health professionals easy access to information ranging from daily health needs, such as nutrition, to information related to life events, such as having a baby. Specific information on conditions and diseases, such as diabetes or asthma, is also available.

Some people may access HealthInsite only occasionally when they or a family member has a health problem or is seeking preventative health information. Others will want information on specific health issues on a regular basis. Consumers can access HealthInsite directly from home or through facilities such as public libraries and educational institutions.

HealthInsite is also a resource for health professionals, service providers and researchers for both their own use and for patient referral.

Users may choose to enrol with HealthInsite, enabling them to save preferred documents to their own personal profile, have search results sorted according to their preferences, and have a personal 'area of interest' search created to keep up-to-date on a specific topic. When new information is added to a HealthInsite topic page that an enrolled user has saved as one of their preferred pages, they are notified via e-mail, ensuring they are kept up to date with changes or new research.
